Street Food
Guest call pager for street-food
Street food is a concept that grows everywhere. Street food has been known in the Far East for many years as street kitchen.
As we obviously do not have the same temperatures as in the Far East, many of the European street-food places are indoors. This often create the familiar problems with people standing in line, but in addition to this, street food stalls also other challenges:
- Often small order taking and delivery hatches that create queuing and make it difficult for the guest to see menu cards or how the food is cooked.
- Indoor street kitchens rarely have the opportunity to run out with the food and often have to shout the customer. This can be problematic if there are many people, or when the guests have taken a seat far away from the food store.
- For street food stalls selling drinks, it may be an advantage to hand over the drinks when the guest order. Guests who have the opportunity to wait for the food in peace and quiet will often have consumed most of their drinks when picking up the food, and would therefore purchases more.
- Both in permanent street-food stalls and in running food trucks, the problem is that at peak times there are many people standing in front of the order taking hatch at the same time. This scare new customers away and give them a sense of long waiting time. This does not align with the street-food concept, which is “fast food”.
A guest call system solves all these problems easily and to both store and the guest’s great satisfaction.
The guest orders his food and receives an electronic pager that beeps when the food is ready. The guest can therefore, wait in peace and can already start on their drinks. Whether the wait for the food is 3 or 10 minutes does not matter, because the pager gives the visitor the confidence that they get their food when it is ready, fresh and hot. Also it secures that they are not forgotten – something which every guest appreciates.
For the street-food stall a guest call system means that you do not lose guests, and the staff do not get stressed because there is a long queue in front of the hatch. That this also mean that you can sell more drinks, are just an added bonus.
